ehm... I'm being told that ndd is already the name of a Solaris utility... I'm in the process of inventing a new one...

NEW: 2002-05-15 - The first version is out. Get it, test it, let me know!

--- extract from the README ---

WHAT IS ndd ?:

ndd (network dd) is a file cloning utility that copies data to any number
of hosts simultaneously. It is designed for cloning partitions to roll-out
identic computers. It does not, however, understand partition tables and
partitions. It reads and writes raw data just like dd does. Cloning whole
partitions will probably require further adjustments to the partition table
etc. using other tools. I haven't tried that yet. When I get that to work,
I'll post it...

... here

for now, you can download the current (first) version, compile it and try it:

Enjoy, and let me know if you find it useful or if it wrecks your data ;-)
